Stara Fužina - Rudnica (by road)

Access to the starting point:
From the Ljubljana - Jesenice motorway, take the Lesce exit and then continue towards Lake Bohinj. In Ribčev laz, turn right towards Stara Fužina, and follow the road for another 100 m, or more precisely to the crossroads where the signs for Rudnica and Peč direct you right over the bridge over the Mostnica River. Just after the bridge is the starting point for our excursion.
As parking in the TNP area is only allowed in marked places, we have to park in a nearby pay parking lot or in a free parking lot a little further away.

Path description:
At the starting point we see signs for Peč and Rudnica, but we don't start in that direction, but just after the bridge over Mostnica we continue left on the asphalted cycle path. The path takes you along the Mostnica River for a while, then you reach a small crossroads (you can also get here from the centre of Stara Fužina), where you continue right in the direction of Rudnica. Continue along the cycle path, but now walk along the scenic meadow, which rises only slightly along the Ribnica stream. Just a little further on, we reach the next crossroads, where we leave the cycle road and continue right on the macadam road, along which we see signs for Rudnica. The road climbs gently for a short distance, then passes into lane of bushes, where it turns slightly to the left and gradually starts to climb moderately. Continue straight ahead at two successive junctions, and then the path from the village Studor joins from the left. Continue in the direction of Rudnica and follow the deteriorating, partly rutted road, which climbs partly through the forest and partly over the grassy slopes, on which an old cottage stands. Higher up, we get a few nice views of the Studor v Bohinju lake, and then the path starts to climb steeply again. A short, slightly steeper climb follows and the marked path past Peć joins us from the right.
Continue in the direction of Rudnica, and the path, which continues along cart track, quickly leads to a large meadow, where a small log cabin can be seen on its lower edge. Continue straight across the meadow, which offers a beautiful view of Lake Bohinj. At the upper part of the meadow, the path returns to the forest and joins the marked path from the village of Brod just 10 metres higher. Here, continue left and after a minute of further walking you will reach the top of Rudnice.
