Access to the starting point:
From the motorway Ljubljana - Jesenice take the exit Lesce and follow the road in the direction of Bled, where you will be directed to the right at a semaphore crossroads marked for Pokljuka. Follow this road, which in the lower part takes us through a few villages and later starts to climb steeply, to Mrzle Studenec (a mountain located just 50m after the junction where the road to Bohinj branches off to the left). In the middle of the mountain pasture the main road branches off to the right, leading to Medvedova konte, Pri Rupah and mountain pasture Javornik. Turn right here and follow the road to the next crossroads, where you continue to the right in the direction of Medvedova konte (straight ahead Javornik mountain). The road continues downhill after a short climb and leads to the next crossroads, where you continue perpendicularly to the left. Then turn right at the first right fork. Soon another road branches off sharp right, here go straight ahead and only about 100m after that at a junction turn sharp right. Now drive for about 3km to the first turning to the left. Turn left here and drive to the parking lot, where signs direct you to mountain pasture Klek. Park in the small parking lot by the road.
Path description:
From the parking lot, go back a few metres and then follow the footpath in the direction of Lipance, Kleka and Debele peči. The trail continues along cart track, which leads past the watering point for animals to the first shepherd's huts at mountain pasture Klek. From these huts, a fine view opens up across the whole of mountain pasture, and we continue slightly to the right and descend crosswise to the second part of mountain pasture, where there are a few more shepherd's huts.
We continue along a path which is not very visible and which, after a further 10 steps, turns into a larch forest. Here the path becomes clearer again and we follow it in the direction of Lipanka. There are a few short ascents and descents, along a sometimes again less visible path. After about 30 minutes' walk from mountain pasture Klek, we will reach a marked crossroads where we continue left in the direction of Blejska koča or Lipance (slightly right Debela peč - the usual route from mountain pasture Klek). The trail continues transversely to the south-west, without any major changes in elevation. A little further on, the path emerges from a sparse forest into a belt of uncultivated hillside. Here, on the right-hand side, on a larger rock, you will see a rather faded inscription Debela peč, pointing to the right up the bank.
At the rock, leave the wider and well-marked path leading to Blejska koča and continue the ascent to the right along the route of the former path. There is almost no trace of the route, but the old faded markings are still visible. We continue climbing up the slope straight ahead, with the old markings to help us find our way. Higher up, the path turns right through the dwarf pines zone, and then slightly to the left or straight up again. The steep track continues along steep grassy slopes covered with dwarf pines. A little further on, the path gradually reaches the foot of the short cliffs and becomes steeper still, climbing above the cliffs over a grassy ridge covered with dwarf pines. Here the path turns to the right and joins the above-mentioned normal path with mountain pasture Klek to Debelo crag.
When you reach the well-marked mountain path, the climb is quite steep for a while, and then the path, which offers increasingly beautiful views, gradually becomes less steep. We continue to climb for some time through the increasingly rare dwarf pines, and the path takes us several times to a ridge from which we have a beautiful view towards Krma and the mountains above the Krma valley (in the background you can also see the peaks above the Vrata valley). This path, which is no longer particularly steep, is followed all the way to the lookout peak, which is reached after a few minutes of further walking.
