Sveta Barbara (Nova Hrastnica) - Osolnik

Access to the starting point:
a) From the road Medvode - Škofja Loka, at the beginning of Škofja Loka, turn in the direction of Poljanska dolina, then after the Sten tunnel turn right towards Puštal. A little further on, take another right, then pass through Puštal and the Hrastnice valley. Follow the asphalt road along the valley floor to the crossroads in front of the Nova Hrastnica bus station, where the road to Sv. Andreje branches off to the right. At the crossroads, where there are no parking spaces, the route described above begins.

b) From Poljanska dolina, drive towards Škofja Loka, then turn left before the Sten tunnel towards Puštal, and at the next junction turn right. Continue through Puštal and the Hrastnice valley. Follow the asphalt road along the valley floor to the crossroads in front of the Nova Hrastnica bus station, where the road to Sv. Andreje branches off to the right. At the crossroads, where there are no parking spaces, the route described above begins.

Path description:
From the starting point, turn left, crossing the bridge over the Hrastnica stream, then keep slightly right. At the end of the settlement, the road becomes macadam and starts to climb through the forest. Higher up, we arrive at a crossroads from which we continue straight on, and just a little further on, the road leads us to the homestead Kamnar, where the driveway ends.

Go around the house on the left, and after the goat house continue along the grassy cart track, which quickly leads us into the forest. After a few minutes of walking through the forest, you reach St Barbara's Church, which offers a beautiful view.

From the church, take a sharp left and follow the asphalt road up to the Kožuh homestead. At the farmhouse, turn left and follow the cart track, which continues westwards and then continues in a gentle ascent to the hay meadow, where it ends. Here continue right and climb along the left-hand edge of the hay meadow, ascending a faint ridge. When you get a little higher into the forest, a traceable and initially very steep path appears, leading to the right of small cliffs. Higher up, the track flattens out and transiently gets quite close to the older cart track, then continues through the forest to the indistinct Kožuh Peak.
Here the ridge turns slightly more to the right, and the track, which continues along and along the ridge, descends gently at first and then climbs gently to moderately for the most part. A little further on, the track widens into cart track, and when cart track turns slightly to the right, leave it and continue left on a well-worn, but later quite overgrown, track. The path continues along and along the Mavrovec ridge (841 m), and then the path lays down again for a few minutes. A little further on, we leave the forest, and behind the NOB memorial, the path climbs steeply up the increasingly scenic top slope of Osolnika. When the track is laid, the top is reached and the church and the registration box are still 10 steps further on.
