Tolminske Ravne - Tolminski Kuk (via Planina Kal)

Access to the starting point:
From Tolmin, it's a 12-kilometre drive to Tolminske Raven. From the centre of Tolmin we head towards Žabče. In this village, turn right between the houses and continue over the village towards Tolminske Ravenna. After some time, descend into the valley, where you cross a bridge and continue uphill towards Ravne. When you reach the village, turn right into a small parking area.
The road is fully asphalted, but narrow and with sharp bends in places.

Path description:
From the parking lot a path leads to a meadow, past a sign for TNP. At the end of the meadow is a pasture gate, beyond which a signpost leads the way left uphill to Mountain pasture Kal and Migovec. The sign for Tolminski Kuk is not yet found here, so continue in the direction of Migovec. From here the easy, poorly marked route continues, but is well marked at the crossroads. Soon the "Kravja cesta" (Cow path) branches off to the left, which has the same goal, but is more sloping, and if you continue straight ahead, you will reach a steeper forest path.
When you reach a clearing, you come to a crossroads where you continue right uphill. If you have come along the "Cow Path", just continue straight ahead. In a few minutes you will see mountain pasture Kal and Migovec above it.
After Mountain pasture Kal there is a signpost pointing up to Krn, then a few metres above the huts it forks left to Krn and right to Migovec. Continue in the direction of Migovec.
The path leads us first through dwarf pines, then over a rocky path, sometimes there is also a small scree slope. From the path we have a beautiful view of the Krnsko mountain range and the Tolminka valley. Following the rocky path through serpentines, you will reach a saddle where you can already see the summit. Here the path leads right up to Migovec (about 15 minutes) and left down to Tolmin Kuk.
The path first descends a few metres, then continues on a gentle slope in the direction of the few markings, and the path becomes less well trodden. The rocky cairns are helpful, especially in foggy weather, as you can quickly lose the trail during the dwarf pines.
Soon we come out of dwarf pines, and the path is getting less well marked, so we follow the moguls and the orientation towards the Tolminski Kuk summit, which is constantly ahead.
If we follow the signs and the markings, the path will lead us to the saddle between Tolminski Kuk and Zeleni vrh, where we join the even less well-marked path from the direction of Škrbina.
From the saddle, it is a 15-minute climb along the edge of the ridge to the summit, so care will not be superfluous.
The summit is marked with a small signpost and there is also a signing book, a stamp and a seal.
