Access to the starting point:
From the motorway Ljubljana - Jesenice take the exit Lipce, where you turn right towards Jesenice. In the Slovenski Javornik settlement, at the junction with the traffic light, turn left towards the town centre. At the second traffic-lighted junction (by the gymnasium) turn sharp right, back along Tomšičeva cesta, passing the primary school on the left. There is a small crossroads where you turn right and go down a small ramp, and immediately afterwards turn right again into a large parking lot behind the Tonet Čufar Theatre.
Path description:
From the parking lot, follow the road back to the junction near the primary school on the left, turn right and continue along Tomšičeva cesta eastwards. You will soon reach the bus stop, where you must cross the road at the end of the latter. On the other side of the road, you will come to a roadside scarp with a passageway with steps. These lead up into the village, where you pass a few houses and continue straight uphill towards the forest. A little higher up, you will come to a grassy area where there is an overgrown path into the forest. This leads us past an old water reservoir, which resembles a shelter, into the forest, where we come across a slightly larger, fenced water reservoir. Passing the latter, we continue on the right, and shortly come across a cross path, which we step on and follow to the right (the left path to Kalvarija). The path descends and leads us in a few steps to the bed of the torrential Dole stream. Leave the path here and continue left along the often dry stream bed, uphill to the north. After a short climb, walking along and along the stream bed leads us first to a small waterfall called the "sentinel", which we easily climb over on the right (left bank), and continue up the increasingly difficult terrain along the stream bed. A little higher up, you will come across a medium, slightly larger (approx. 8 m) waterfall, the base of which can be climbed with some effort without the use of special equipment. If we want to continue the climb to see the upper, highest waterfall, we will need at least a good ice axe for progress on steep terrain, and a rope in case of descending in the same direction, in addition to experience. To continue, we head up the slope of steep grass and some rocks to our right. A little higher up, above the middle waterfall, turn slightly left and climb over a steep rib to the other side (you will have to dig your feet out as you go), to the slope of the left (same) bank of the stream, or valley below the upper waterfall. Then, with some care, descend into the valley below the highest waterfall. Here the terrain is mostly washed out, broken and, as a result of the rainfall, quite littered with fallen trees. If we continue along the slope, we will face an obstacle higher up, in the form of a steepening slope, which we cannot overcome without the use of the above-mentioned equipment and experience. In wet conditions, there is a high risk of slipping in the whole waterfall area!
