Tonkina koča na Vršiču - Erjavčeva koča na Vršiču

Access to the starting point:
From Kranjska Gora take the road leading over the Vršič pass to Bovec or vice versa. Between the 16th and 17th serpentine of the Vršiška cesta you will reach Tonka's hut, near which you park in the roadside parking lot.

Path description:
From the parking lot, walk first to Tonka's hut, and from there continue along the old road leading to the Postman's Home on Vršič. Walk along the rather folded road, which occasionally opens up a beautiful view towards Špik and the surrounding mountains, until you reach the first left-hand serpentine. At the serpentine, an unmarked path branches off slightly to the right, leading towards Erjavec's hut on Vršič. After two or three steps, the path turns left and then climbs parallel to the nearby torrential ravine. A few minutes higher, you reach the marked path Erjavčeva koča - Poštarski dom, and we follow it to the right, in the direction of Erjavčeva koča. There is a slight descent and then a crossing of the aforementioned ravine. With beautiful views of the Špikovo Group and Škrlatica, we reach the parking area below Erjavčeva hut in a few minutes, from which there is only a short climb up to the mountain hut mentioned several times before.
