Tree nursery Štivan - Štivanski log

Access to the starting point:
a) Exit the Primož motorway at exit Postojna and then continue towards Pivka and Ilirska Bistrica. When you reach the settlement Matenja vas, turn right in the direction of the Štivan nursery. Park at the nursery in the parking lot at the start of the Štivanski log nature trail.
b) First drive to Pivka, then continue driving towards Postojna. When you reach the settlement Matenja vas, turn left towards Štivan Nursery. Park at the nursery in the parking lot at the start of the Štivanski log nature trail.

Path description:
The path initially leads through a well-maintained park, where you follow the left-hand fork, then quickly reach the greenhouses after a small bridge, which you pass on the left-hand side. Continue in the same direction for a short distance, then the wider path continues to the left and right, and we continue straight ahead, where we find an overgrown path that climbs for a few steps. The path ahead leads us through overgrown terrain, where we also pass an overgrown signboard, and after it we enter an asphalt road, which we follow to the right. Here, looking back, we see a larger pasture and a view stretching towards Osojnica, and we quickly leave the road and continue right on another more overgrown path. Shortly after the charcoal house, cross another tarmac road and then continue along the lakeside. When we reach the swings, the nature trail continues to the left, descends to the Austrian fountain, continues briefly over a longer bridge, and then continues on the overgrown path, semicircularly returning to the swings, from which we quickly return to our starting point and the end of the nature trail Štivanski log.
The trail described is not maintained and is in a state of disrepair.
