Path description:
From the parking area, head towards the centre of the village, where the most important landmark is probably the Church of St Luke. You can continue along the asphalt road to the Veliki Slomnik turnoff, where the route is marked, or perhaps turn a little lower down onto a well-trodden gravel road along fields and meadows, which rejoins before the Veliki Slomnik turnoff. After the turn-off for Veliki Slomnik into the woods, follow the wider hard-surfaced forest road, which climbs steeply and becomes a forest track higher up in a small clearing as the weekend progresses. A mountain path soon joins from the right, starting at a cross at the turnoff for Košnica, and after a short distance you reach the halfway point of the trail, the Slomnik crossroads with a table and benches.
From the Slomnik crossroads you can continue to the top of Veliki Slomnik, which is reached after a one kilometre walk up 160 vertical metres and a short extension to the Liboje wall, an excellent lookout point.
After returning from Veliki Slomnik, or if it has not been added, continue from the Slomnik crossroads down a pleasant forest path. Soon you reach cart track, where signs direct you to the left. Cart track soon turns into the meadow cart track and further on you reach the settlement Košnica, where there is a new crossroads.
Continue along the asphalt road in the direction of Hom or Brnica. The asphalt soon turns into a wide and well-trodden forest road. Soon the path for Brnica branches off to the left, while we continue slightly to the right and uphill. At the top of the climb, there is another left fork for Brnica, and we continue right slightly downhill to a farmhouse (called Ojsteršek according to the sources), where the forest road ends.
We continue along a wide mountain path in a partly mixed deciduous and coniferous forest upwards and in a pleasant final climb we reach the destination. . . Hom nad Celjem.
The total length of the route from Tremerje, excluding the possible addition of Veliki Slomnik and Liboje walls, is about 5300 metres, 590 positive vertical metres and 260 negative vertical metres.
