Trögern - Kärntner Storschitz / Pristovški Storžič

Access to the starting point:
From the motorway Ljubljana - Jesenice take the exit Kranj - East and follow the road towards Jezersko. From Zgornje Jezersko continue towards Austria, and we take the road to Železna Kapla / Bad Eisenkappel, where we turn left at a slightly larger junction towards Obirsko / Ebriach, Šajda / Zell - Schaida and Korte / Trögern. Continue along the valley of the Obirsko Creek for a few kilometres and then turn left towards Korte / Trogern. Continue through the Skoz Peci gorge to the aforementioned place, where you can park in the large parking lot next to the former Pristovnik inn.
The starting point can also be reached from the Savinjska valley via Border crossing Pavličev vrh.

Path description:
From the parking lot, continue past the information board and the ramp to the nearby mountain signpost for Kärntner Storschitz / Kärntner Storschitz. Continue along the road for a short distance, then signs direct you to the right to a marked shortcut. We are quickly back on the road, and we reach it just at the crossroads, where we continue on the worse road on the right. Follow it for a few minutes, then signs direct us left onto the slightly steeper and partly overgrown cart track, which turns into a footpath higher up, and this joins the wider macadam road slightly higher up. Follow the wide road to the first crossroads, then turn left after the "Kärntner Storschitz" signs. At the right-hand bend, leave this road and continue the ascent along the path, which crosses the road a few more times or in places only approaches it. Higher up, the path returns to the road, and we follow it to a marked crossroads where the path from Jezerski vrh (easier path) and the path from Bela / Bad Vellach join.
From here we continue in the route Kärntner Storschitz along the path which goes into the forest and gradually starts to climb steeper. As you go through the forest, the path climbs quite steeply for a few metres (a slip hazard in wet conditions), and then flattens out and crosses a few more metres of slightly steeper slope with the help of a rope (not difficult in dry conditions). Above the steep part, the path flattens out a little and leads out of the forest into the lane of dwarf pines, through which you climb to the nearby summit in a few minutes.
