Veliko Ubeljsko - Vojkova koča na Nanosu

Access to the starting point:
From the Ljubljana - Koper motorway, take the Razdrto exit and follow the parallel old road towards Postojna. Soon you will see signs pointing to the left in the direction of the villages Veliko Ubeljsko and Strane. In the village Malo Ubeljsko you will reach the next crossroads, where you continue left (slightly right Strane) in the direction of Veliki Ubeljski. Follow this road until you reach the cemetery parking lot, which is located just before the village of Veliko Ubeljsko.

Path description:
From the cemetery we continue on the asphalted road, which quickly leads us to Veliko Ubeljsko. The road then leads us past the church to the upper part of the village, where we see a mountain direction sign with the inscription Nanos, which directs us to the right on a worse forest road.
Continue the ascent along the above-mentioned road, which, after a few minutes' further walking, leads us to the place where we leave. Signs for Nanos direct us to the left, to cart track, which gradually starts to climb steeper and steeper. Higher up, cart track becomes a footpath, with a steeper gradient.
The path climbs steeply above the village of Veliko Ubeljsko, and at a higher altitude changes from forest to steeper grassy slopes. Over these grassy slopes, which are a slip hazard in wet conditions, there is a very steep cross-climb.
Higher up, the steepness eases and the path joins the much wider path from Razdrteg. Continue along the above-mentioned path, which after less than 5 minutes of further walking leads to Vojka's hut on Nanos.
