Access to the starting point:
From the old Zagreb - Rijeka / Rijeka road, in Gornje Jelenje turn right towards Risnjak National Park. After 2 km you will reach the road junction for Platak. We continue to the right and follow the route NP Risnjak, Vilje, Lazac. At the 6th km from Gornje Jelenje turn right for Vilje. Here we can leave our cars, but with off-road vehicles we can go another 800 m to Vilje (1184 m). Here begins the shortest and easiest ascent to Risnjak, and also the closest access by car.
Path description:
On a marked mulatier through eminent forest flora, we reach the mountain lodge in 45 minutes, then on to the summit in another 15 minutes, partly via dwarf pines and along a beautiful protected rocky path.
In good weather, the view from the top is beautiful, extending northwards to the Julian and Kamnik Alps, westwards to the island of Krka and Učka, eastwards to Sljemen above Zagreb, southwards to Bjelolasica, Klek, etc.

Zanima me, kako je s snegom na Velikem Risnjaku in če je/če bo preko Velikonočnih praznikov (ponedeljek) dom odprt. Hvala za kakršno koli informacijo! Lp

Sa snjijegom ti je ovako: http://www.platak.com/Portals/0/Podaci/slika2.jpg To je kamera sa Platka, a prema Risnjaku je snijega još i više, naročito u šumi, ojuženega i razmočenog. Šumske ceste su sigurno neprohodne iz pravca PLatka, a vjerojatno i iz pravca Gornjeg jelenja ili Crnog Luga. Dom gotovo sigurno ne radi, nije nikad prije 1. maja, pa neće ni ovu zimu. U domu imaš na volju zimsku sobu sa par ležaja ... lp
