Višnja Gora - Sveti Duh (Polževo)

Access to the starting point:
From the Ljubljana - Obrežje motorway, take the Višnja Gora exit and head towards the centre of the town. Just 10 metres from the Kic bil bar, you will see a large marked parking lot on the left, where you can park.

Path description:
From the parking lot, continue towards the centre of Višnja Gora, then at the first crossroads turn right towards Polžeje. A little further on, at the next crossroads, we see the first red mountain signs for Castle Stari grad, which direct us to the left road, which we leave a little further on and climb past a few houses to the second road, which we reach near the church. Continue through the old part of the town and then, in front of the Edo Turnher Primož Primary School, you will see an information board for the forest trail following the trail of the Višnjan snail.
A little after the school, the signs for Castle Stari grad, the Snail and Jurčič trails direct us left, past a few houses, onto a trail that turns into the forest. Through the forest we start to climb steeply on the cart track, and after a few minutes we arrive at a marked crossroads, where a path branches off to the right, leading past the ruins of Castle Stari grad (the mentioned path is a good 5 minutes longer), and we continue straight on, following the wide cart track. A little further on, on a small pass, the path leading past Castle Stari grad joins us from the right, and we continue in the direction of the Jurčičeva cesta. There is a cross-country climb on the cart track, from which we get some views, and we leave the wide cart track at the right-hand bend and continue straight along the forest nature trail. There is a short climb through the forest and then you reach an asphalt road which you follow to the left in the direction of Polževego. Continue through Pristavo, along the path which continues without any major changes in elevation, but when the settlement ends, so does the asphalt. Then follow the forest road, where you will soon come across a notice that you are entering a bear area.
When the forest ends, we reach the next settlement Zavrtače, where the path leads us first past a newer chapel and then past a few more houses. Here, at the end of the village, turn right towards Polžeje, and just after another notice that we are in a bear area, we turn left onto a footpath that takes us through a meadow into the forest. Through the forest, we pass a small old cottage and return to the asphalt road, which continues on a slight incline to the Polževo Hotel.
On the right (west) side of the hotel is the Polževo ski slope, and the marked path crosses the ski slope to the right in the lower part and passes along the lower right edge of the ski slope, where the marked path continues along the edge of the ski slope. The slope continues to climb moderately, with each step opening up better views of the surrounding hills. At the upper part of the ski slope, the path turns left, then crosses a narrow lane of a forest and leads us to a levelling off to the left of the transmitters, where we see the Church of the Holy Spirit a little further to the left, in the direction straight ahead, following the marked path in the direction Muljava, and before the path begins to descend, we reach the stamp.
