Vitanje - Krajnik Castle

Access to the starting point:
a) From the motorway Ljubljana - Maribor take the exit Celje - centre and continue to Vojnik. At Vojnik, turn left towards Dobrna, and follow the road to Nova Cerkev, where signs for Vitanje direct you to the right. Continue along a narrower and winding road to reach the point of Vitanje. Park in a suitable place in the town (suggestion - park at the KSEVT and visit this unique institution).
b) From the motorway Maribor - Ljubljana, take the exit Slovenske Konjice and then follow the road to the above-mentioned place. From Slovenske Konjice continue on the regional road towards Celje, and follow it to Stranice, where you turn right at the roundabout towards Vitanje. Follow the road to the above-mentioned place and park in a suitable place in the town itself.
c) From the road Velenje - Mislinja at Gornji Dolič turn in the route Slovenske Konjice and drive to Vitanje. Park in a suitable place in the town.

Path description:
In Vitanje, find the Municipality building (Fig. 1), which is located just after the bridge over the Hudinja. There, a sign (2) directs you along the street towards Krajnik's Castle. After 150 m you reach the chapel (3), where you turn left, and again left (4) just after the farm. The path starts to climb (5) and soon you reach a crossroads (6), where you turn right. If you want a good view of Vitanje, turn left at the crossroads and after 10 m you will get a good view of the place (7).
After a further climb, you will reach a new crossroads (8), where you turn left. The path soon reaches a fenced area (10), but a few metres earlier we turn right uphill between branches (11). The path climbs a little steeper (12) and turns left, where we reach Krajnik Castle (14) by the ruins (13).
