Path description:
From the parking lot, you first walk to the ticket office, where you buy your tickets, and then enter the Volčji Potok Arboretum. At first, you walk straight along a wide walking path that leads along a small stream, offering views of the well-kept park and part of the Kamniško Savinjske Alps. There are several forks, and we walk past the French Garden to the Summer Café. From the Summer Café, go slightly left, then on the right you will see an unmarked offshoot of a less well-trodden path that begins to climb. At first, you are still climbing along a well-maintained path, but then the path turns into a forest track, which will take you in a few minutes to the 398-metre-high summit, where you will find the restored ruins of the Old Castle.
Description and pictures refer to the situation in 2016 (August).
