Vratca - Škabrijel

Access to the starting point:
From the Ajdovščina - Nova Gorica expressway, take the Selo exit and follow the road towards Nova Gorica. At Ajševica, turn slightly right, then after a few 100m, turn right towards the village of Kromberk. Continue past the castle and follow the ascending road to a small pass behind which you park in a roadside parking lot.
From Tolmin, take the Nova Gorica, where at the roundabout continue in the direction of Ajdovščina and the village of Kromberk. At Kromberk turn left and follow the ascending road past the castle to a small pass, after which park in the roadside parking lot.

Path description:
From the parking lot, we return a few tens of metres back to the Vratca pass. At the top of the pass, you can see a footpath ascending towards Škabrijel (the start of the path is not marked). The path, along which you can soon see markings, climbs quite steeply and leads you up a slope where you can see a large number of military tunnels. The steepness then slowly eases and the path leads us to the top slope of Škabrijelo. The winding path, which runs mainly through pine wods, leads us to cart track just below the summit, which we follow to the top.
