Vrbnik - Church of the Assumption of Mary (Vrbnik)

Access to the starting point:
From the motorway Rupa - Rijeka / Rijeka or Zagreb - Rijeka / Rijeka, drive towards Rijeka, and from there follow the signs for Krk Island. When the motorway or expressway in the last part ends, we descend to Krk Bridge (toll 35 kuna - March 2014), then continue driving to Omisalj, Njivice and Malinska. The road then leads to the Plodine shopping centre, where the first road to Malinska branches off to the right, and we continue from here to a nearby roundabout, from where we continue driving towards Vrbnik. The road then leads through the village of Gabonjin, and a few kilometres further on we arrive in the village of Kras, where we continue to the right in the direction of Vrbnik. A slightly narrower road leads you past the village of Garica, and after a short descent you reach a vineyard (the grapes grown in this vineyard are used to produce Vrbnička Žlahtina). A little further on, we join the road leading from Krk towards Vrbnik, and here we continue to the left and follow the road, which descends a little further, to a large parking lot on St. John the Baptist Square / St. Ivan the Baptist Square.

Path description:
First, walk to the north side of the parking lot, from where you continue along the ascending road closed to public traffic in the direction of the Church of St. Anthony of Padua, St. Martin's Church, the Nada Restaurant, the Vitezić Library and the Ethnographic Museum. . . At first, the road, still relatively wide, gradually narrows, and then, along the already very narrow streets, past a few restaurants, churches, residential houses, it leads to the Church of St. Mary of the Assumption / St. Mary of Uznesenje. From the church, you can continue a little further to a nice viewpoint with a beautiful view of the sea.
You can go down the same path, or you can take another one of the narrow streets.
