Access to the starting point:
Leave the Štajerska motorway at exit Maribor - centre, then follow the signs for Dogoše and Spodnji Duplek. Follow the signs for Vurberk, and from the roundabout at Dvorjane take the exit for Ptuj. As the road climbs higher, you will come to a crossroads with the cemetery on the left and the Kultur dom Vurberk on the right. Park in the parking lot below the cemetery, or in the parking lot next to the cultural centre.
Path description:
From the parking lot, take the path towards Grmada, where you first walk along the road towards the cemetery, and after a few steps you reach a right turn where you continue straight on the footpath towards Grmada. There is a short climb up a forest path and then you reach cart track, which you follow to the left. Follow cart track to a nearby extension, where you continue slightly right on a marked path which then ascends crosswise over a steeper slope. After a few minutes, the path will lay down and lead to the pass between the two Grmads.
Continue right on the unmarked path (the marked path continues slightly to the left and leads to the north-western summit of Grmada), which follows cart track.
A short steep climb follows, and when the path flattens out, the indistinct south-eastern summit of Grmada is reached.
Description and pictures refer to March 2022.
