Zagrad - Hotel Celjska koča (via Vipota)

Access to the starting point:
a) From the motorway Maribor - Ljubljana, take the exit Celje Centre for the route Laško or Zidani Most. First, cross the first bridge directly under the centre of Celje over the Savinja River. A little further down in the village of Polule, at a semaphore-controlled junction, turn left over the bridge over the Savinja and immediately after the bridge turn right at the junction. Immediately before the underpass for Zagrad, park in the parking lot on the right.
b) From the route of Zidanega Most or Laško, turn right at the traffic lights at the Polule junction and continue to the parking lot as described above.

Path description:
From the parking lot continue to the crossroads, left for Zagrad/podvoz and follow the asphalt road to the right or straight on in the direction of Tremerje, direction sign. After a few hundred metres turn left and under the railway underpass immediately climb through Pečovnik along the stream bed. Somewhere up to a height of three hundred metres, asphalt and then right onto a forest path, a sign on a tree Vipota and soon to one of the tallest trees in Slovenia, a 50 metre high Douglas fir.
Continue on the trail higher and at two marked crossroads to the right you will reach the summit of Vipota.
From the top of Vipota, descend back to the second crossroads and continue in the direction of Tolstego vrh (inscription on the tree trunk). Soon reach the Ivankovič homestead in an idyllic clearing below Vipota and, between the homestead and the outbuilding, reach a crossroads within a few tens of metres. The path under Vipota from Zagrad joins from the left and the path from Tremerje a little further on the right. Continue uphill in the direction of the signpost Hotel Celjska koča with a timer of 1 hour.
Follow the undulating path through the forest, which also goes slightly up and down. There are also a few tens of metres on asphalt and then again on a forest mountain path. Soon you will reach the chapel on the downhill and continue the ascent towards Celjska hut. The path goes slightly downhill and then turns into a forest road, where the path to Tolsti vrh, "after the peaks", branches off to the right. Continue straight ahead, slightly downhill and by a small forestry gate you reach an asphalt road. Continue straight ahead for a few hundred metres on the asphalt surface and in a gentle ascent you reach the destination - Hotel Celjska koča, a modern building above Celje.
The length of the trail from the starting point in Zagrad is about 5 kilometres, 570 positive vertical metres and 150 negative vertical metres.
