Zavetišče v Gozdu - Planica (Paragliding site Gozd)

Access to the starting point:
a) Leave the Gorenjska motorway at exit Kranj West, then follow signs for Golnik and Križe. A little after Senično, a steep road branches off to the right and leads to Zgornje Vetrno and Gozd. Shortly after the village Zgornje Vetrno, we reach a marked parking area on the left side of the road (the starting point for the steep path to Kriško hora), and we continue driving along the ascending road, which soon leads us to the Shelter in the Woods. Park in the parking lot in front of the shelter.
b) From the road Naklo - Tržič, in the village Retnje, turn onto the road in the direction of Križev and Golnik. In Križe, at the stop sign, turn right towards Golnik, and we follow the main road to the crossroads, where a steep road turns sharp left, leading to Zgornje Vetrno and Gozd. Shortly after the village Zgornje Vetrno, we reach a marked parking area on the left side of the road (the starting point for the steep path to Kriško hora), and we continue driving along the ascending road, which soon leads us to the Shelter in the Woods. Park in the parking lot in front of the shelter.

Path description:
From Zavetišče v Gozdu continue along the asphalt road in the direction of Kriška gora, Tolsti vrh, Golnik and Zaloga, from which after a few 10 steps turn right onto a side road in the direction of the viewpoint and the airstrip. At first, we climb up the asphalt road, which opens up a beautiful view towards Kriška Gora, but the road quickly becomes macadam and turns into a forest. There is only a slight climb and the road leads to Planica or the Gozd airstrip.
