Description of peak:
Großes Wiesbachhorn is a 3,564-metre-high mountain in the Glockner mountain group in High Tauernah. The mountain, which is surrounded by numerous glaciers, is very popular with mountaineers, especially in late summer, when it can often be climbed in completely dry conditions. From the summit on which the cross is located, there are very fine views over most of the High Tauern, especially the Großglockner (Grossglockner) and the Grossvenediger. In the distance, the Northern Limestone Alps are also clearly visible. The mountain is also famous for its eastern slope, which is 2,418 metres from peak to valley, the highest in the Eastern Alps.
