Description of peak:
Hoher Burgstall is one of the 7 classic Stubai Alps peaks, recognised by locals as outstanding in historical, touristic and aesthetic terms, which form the popular "7 peaks of Stubai" route. It is located in the Kalkkögel mountain range, the northern bastion of the Stubai Valley. It can be reached by marked trails from both the Starkenburger hut and the Sennjochhütte, and despite its lower altitude than most of the other key peaks in the mountain range and its relatively easy access, it offers outstanding views: all six of the other peaks of the circumambulation, the Kalkkögel, the Habicht and Serles, and, in fine weather, all the way to Innsbruck and the Norkette above it, can be seen.
