Description of peak:
Kemacher is the highest peak in the central part of the much admired Nordkette ridge, which rises directly above Innsbruck and gives the city its characteristic appearance as a high natural barrier.
The only marked approach to the Kemarcher follows the route of an attractive and not too demanding ferry, which offers outstanding views of Innsbruck and the Stubai Valley to the south and the picturesque Karwendel mountains to the north, the southern part of which is formed by the Nordkette. As the funicular railway leads almost to the start of the ferry, the latter is very popular and Kemacher consequently receives a considerable number of visitors.
