Description of peak:
Marchreisenspitze is a beautifully shaped and remotely recognisable mountain and one of the main peaks in the Kalkkögel, the northern bastion of the Stubai Alps. Like most of the Kalkkögel, it is built of limestone and is reached by the popular protected trail "Lustige Bergler Steig". It is situated above the Axamer Lizum ski slope, where most of the skiing events at the 1964 and 1976 Innsbruck Olympics took place, and offers spectacular views of the Stubai Alps, Zillertal Alps, the Mieming and Nordkette mountain ranges and the Inn valley.
