Description of peak:
Porze is a 2599 m high mountain in the border/main ridge Carnic Alps, above the upper reaches of the Zilja River. The rocky peak structure above the green ridges gives the impression of mountains at home. The proximity of similarly high and slightly higher giants in good weather provides beautiful and wide views. Two not to difficult protected paths allow a varied approach to the summit in two to two and a half hours from the hut and, of course, a summit crossing in about four to five. There are numerous climbing routes on the north face. The easiest access is from hut Porze (1942 m), reached by a well-maintained dirt road from Obertilliach. On Saturdays and Sundays the road is open to the hut, otherwise only to the Klapf(see) lake a good hour's walk below.
