Description of peak:
Serles is one of the most recognisable, admired and visited hills around Innsbruck. Together with the Hafelekar (or Nordkette Ridge) and the Patscherkofl, the three-peaked pyramidal mountains form a trio of Innsbruck's panoramic mountains, which are a key complement to the city's distinctive skyline and are also accessible to the general public. Serles is also one of the points of interest of the "7 Peaks of Stubai" tour.
The somewhat isolated mountain, with its attractive pyramidal shape, has been nicknamed the "high altar of Tyrol" and has been the subject of numerous literary works - including Goethe, who is also the author of the nickname - and the inspiration for many visual artists. The Serles received its first official accession as early as 1579.
The summit is very spacious, but it offers a breathtaking view over Innsbruck with the Nordkette, the Zillertal and the Stubai Alps.
