Access to starting point:
Between Most na Soči and Tolmin, the road branches off to Poljubinj. From Poljubinj we drive ahead towards the village Ljubinj, where behind the church we turn left towards the mountain pasture Razor and Stador. The road brings us to the parking lot on the mountain pasture Stador, where nearby there is a mountain hut. We drive further to the mountain pasture Lom and further on the road following the signs to mountain pasture Razor. At an altitude of 1150 m we arrive at the mountain pasture Kuk, where there is a parking lot on which we park. Further driving is forbidden.
Route description:
From the parking lot, we continue on the traffic-closed road, which after a few dozen steps brings us to the mountain pasture Kuk, where in the summer we can buy homemade dairy products (sour milk, cheese, curd).
The road ahead starts gently ascending and eventually brings us to the next gate. After the gate, the path goes into the forest and ascends almost imperceptibly, occasionally even slightly descending. After one hour of walking, the path brings us to the mountain pasture Razor, where there is the mountain hut.
From the hut, we continue in the direction of Vogel on a gently undulating path to the next junction, where we go right again in the direction of Vogel (left Tolminski Kuk). Here the path moderately ascends over a panoramic slope and after a short ascent brings us into the forest, where it continues for the next few minutes to the next junction. Here we continue right in the direction of Vogel, left Globoko, and the path soon brings us among dwarf pines, where it ascends amid increasingly beautiful views. A little higher, the path bypasses Krnica on the left side and in a moderate traverse ascent over an increasingly steep slope climbs to the saddle between Vogel and Žabiški Kuk. Here we continue left upward along the ridge (right Žabiški Kuk). The nice panoramic path then brings us in about ten minutes of ascent along an undemanding ridge to the panoramic summit.

Today did circular path: planina Kuk-planina Razor-Vogel-Globoko-planina Razor-planina Kuk. A really nice circular path, but in the opposite direction it would be somewhat strenuous due to the scorching sun and ascent to Globoko.

Did the mentioned path yesterday 6.8.2017. Super path. Recommend especially to families with small children. Lots of raspberries, gentians along the path. Wonderful view from the top.

I passed Planina KUK on 8.8.2017 and saw that they had driven there normally by cars, I went by car to Planina Stador, from there it's less than an hour walk to Planina KUK.

On 30.7. we managed to drive to the planina normally, only minor problem when meeting oncoming traffic on certain narrow sections, have a nice trip.

THE TRAIL IS VERY BEAUTIFUL, TO DRIVE TO PLANINA KUK BY CAR YOU HAVE TO BE CAREFUL AND A GOOD DRIVER. ALONE IN THE EMBRACE OF MOUNTAINS WE HAD NEVER EXPERIENCED THIS BEFORE, ON THE SUMMIT GOATS GREET US

The road is normally drivable just a few larger potholes so drive carefully. Snow starts at pl. Razor. Exceptionally beautiful area. Best regards

Yesterday we decided to go from Planina Podkuk to Vogel. You can go quite high on the trail. Very little snow, compared to last year's tour when we went into the cirque between Žabijski Kuk and Vogel. We used the winter path under the saddle. Where we went left and then to the saddle to the sign. Here is the slope. Then to the summit is not far, but caution is needed because there is wind-blown snow on the ridge in places. At about 1700 m we left the poles and used winter gear. From the sign to the summit quite windy and cold.

If anyone is interested in the conditions. Today we went from Podkuk to Vogel. The road from planina Lom is full of leaves in some sections. There are also some stones on the gravel road. They need to be removed. They nicely arranged the parking lot. And put up new benches. Need to drive carefully over two culverts on the gravel. There's very little snow further on. There is some on the path but it poses no problems. We used winter gear where we went steeply up the winter path. It's a mix of wind-packed snow, also stones in between. Caution required. From the sign to the top it goes nicely. There was wind, but not too strong.
