Kolan - Sv. Vid (otok Pag) (Kolan - Sveti Vid (Pag))

Access to the starting point:
Be aware of a really sharp bend, which turns almost 180° to the right if you are driving in the route Novalja - Pag, or to the left if you are driving in the route Pag - Novalja. The road starts to rise at this point - looking in the direction of Pag. The bend is at the end of Kolan if you are heading towards Pag, or at the beginning if you are heading towards Novalja.
The markings start immediately along the way. There is also a signpost indicating access.

Path description:
The first part of the path follows a kind of valley, surrounded on both sides by stone walls that serve as protection against the storm and as a fence for the sheep that graze along the path.
The path ascends only gently. We keep going straight ahead, although there is a marking on one of the stone walls which leads us to the right. At this point, continue straight ahead, where the path is also very visible.
We walk along the path for just under half an hour and then reach an undistinguished saddle where we join the marked path from the Šimuni bivouac. At this point, turn left and after 5 minutes of walking you will see the summit with the church, the pyramid and the geodetic stone.

Continue following the signs past the lagoon with frogs. From the lake to the summit, the path climbs quite steeply, but it is short and you reach the summit quickly. The views from the top are breathtaking. On one side towards the settlements around Paško Bay (Zuboviči, Metajna) and on the other towards Pag, Kolan and Šimuni. The neighbouring islands of Rab, Lošinj, Maun,. . .

It is worth mentioning that the rocks and stones are much sharper than on our mountain paths, so your footwear will suffer more.
