Parking place below Nassfeld - Monte Cavallo / Rosskofel (by east ridge)

Access to the starting point:
After the border crossing in Rateče, drive through Trbiž / Tarvisio, Ukve / Ugovizza to Tablja / Pontebba, where you turn right after the signs "Passo di Pramollo / Nassfeld" (Slovenian Wetlands). Shortly before the pass, a dirt road turns left at a right-hand bend. At the crossroads there are signposts and a small parking area.

Path description:
At the parking lot, take the macadam road, which is closed to traffic, and after a few metres you will reach a crossroads where the road to Mokrine / Nassfeld Pass branches off to the right. We continue to the left along the road, which in about half an hour, with gentle ups and downs, leads us to mountain pasture at hut Baita Winkel (1470 m).
At mountain pasture, turn left after the Rosskofel Ostgrat signs. The path crosses a stream and begins to climb in switchbacks through the forest. Just before the ridge, you reach a crossroads where you turn right, the left path leads to Malvueric (1899 m). The path then leads through the slightly overgrown dwarf pines to the south side of the ridge. From here on the route becomes difficult and some easy climbing is required. The whole route is unprotected and quite exposed, and in the wet it is very dangerous to slip. The path follows natural passages and soon leads us along a steep stream and then along a narrow ravine to a box with a signing-in book. Here the trail turns right and, climbing more easily on the southern slopes, leads to a steep grassy slope. This is followed by an exposed traverse towards the ridge, where the path becomes slightly less steep, but still quite exposed. Again avoiding the ridge on the steep and somewhat crumbly southern slopes of the mountain. Once on the ridge again, the path becomes flatter and gradually less exposed. Soon we reach the Creta di Pricot peak (2252 m), which is even slightly higher than our goal of Konjski Spike / Monte Cavallo / Rosskofel. From here, we reach the summit of Konjski Špik in 15 minutes, following an easy path with a slight descent and then a climb.
