Church of the Virgin Mary on Kamen

Description of mountain:
The Church of the Virgin Mary on Kamen is located along the right bank of the Drava River, more precisely along the road connecting Vuzenica and Vuhred.
Near the church is also a chapel dedicated to Blessed Anton Martin Slomšek.
Legend of the church's origin:
According to legend, castle gallows for carrying out death sentences once stood on the hill in front of the church. A father and son pilgrims were heading to Svete Višarje and stopped at the Premrov inn in Novi, now Spodnji trg in Vuzenica, to rest. Gendarmes entered the inn searching for a stolen golden chalice. The thief discreetly pushed the chalice into the backpack of the young pilgrim under the table, where the gendarmes found it. The son was sentenced to death by hanging, and the sentence was carried out immediately. The next morning, his father came to take him down and bury him. The son, still hanging from the gallows, was alive and said he had stood on the shoulders of a white lady who saved him from death, as he was innocent. In gratitude, they built the Church of the Virgin Mary on Kamen.
