Description:
Dwarf saussurea (Saussurea pygmaea) belongs to the Asteraceae family, flowers from July to August, grows from 5 to 20 cm tall. Rather rarely we find on high-montane swards an interesting little flower. At the top of the woolly-hairy stem there is a single flower head. Heads are about 3 cm wide. Leaves are rough, linear to lanceolate, grey below. The flower is violet.
