PT = Pohorje Mountain Bike Traverse

 A few days ago on Sunday I rode a section of the Pohorje mountain bike traverse between Pesek - Kopa and back. Total about 50 km of trail and 1400m elevation gain. The entire PT traverse runs on forest roads from Sv. Bolfenk on the Maribor part of Pohorje-Glažuta-Šumik-Klopni vrh-Pesek-Jezerce-hut on Pesnik-Kopa-hut Planinc- ending at the hut below Kremžarov vrh on the Slovenj Gradec part of Pohorje, 75 km one way. It's a project by MRA-Maribor Development Agency. Excellently marked in both directions with stakes and PT signs, quite demanding to ride. Summer storms have damaged the forest roads on Pohorje quite badly. Met quite a few cyclists on the trail. More repeats will surely follow, since I haven't ridden some sections yet...

I definitely recommend trying to ride it fully sometime. On this link you can find the map, and the printed version can be ordered at tic@maribor.si.
Otherwise every year early August event ''With mountain bikes across Pohorje'', where we rode PT last year in the correct direction (Bolfenk-Kremžarica), and this year in the reverse.

I rode it last year in both directions. From Kremžarov vrh to Belvij and back. 150km, 3600m elev, under 10 hours.
