Žagarski vrh/Javor - Mali vrh - Obolno - Gozd Reka - Janče … via Kostanjev trail and a bit on Sadna road
To the Žagarski vrh and Javor from the direction of Sostra, Podlipoglava, or from Besnica valley there are several different roads, known for relatively nice cycling climbs, for many Dom Radio Amaterjev Vevče is already the final goal,… but our adventure starts here.
If after descending from Javor you turn onto Kostanjeva pot, it takes you along less crowded and varied forest paths towards Mali vrh, all the way to tourist farm Kamnikar, from there further, after short descent to saddle above village Trebeljevo, ride a bit straight and further into Ivančna Gorica municipality, then soon turn sharply left onto smaller forest path to Obolno. Also here, after initial descent follows towards Obolno through forest a bit more demanding climb, which we spice up with short climb to scenic grassy top of Obolno (wooden hut of Radio club), where nearby flutters large municipal flag of the mentioned municipality. Due to later continuation we return same path, from excursion farm Berčon at Obolno descend another about 500 m lower towards village Planini, but before it turn left downhill towards Gozd-Reka, past farms Pri Žnedar-ju on right or Pri Rekar-ju on left, arrive via comfortable asphalt roads to valley of settlement Gozd-Reka, this time already in Municipality Šmartno pri Litiji.
Most road cyclists would here use known road section left Litija - Trebeljevo, we go some less than a km on main road right towards Litija, where after first left bend immediately turn onto nice, though a bit steeper road to village Račica. When puffing from forest to eco farm Pri Medved-u, road through village becomes more level, around us village world becomes scenic again. At end of village, at chapel, follows another choice of path continuation, either over Koške Poljane or bit further over Štango, direction over Tuji Grm and towards Janče … and again on known Sadna cesta.
From top of Janče descend to Besnica valley on main roads through Volavlje, Gabrje or Vnajnarje or less known gravel paths. From Žagarski vrh via Mali vrh, Obolno, Gozd-Reka, Račica to Janče approx 30 km, but note that these are not starting and ending points of the tour.
