Ridge = Škrabarjev vrh - Reška planina - Gradišče

Late afternoon I caught some time for a trip. Part of the path to Reška planina described by geppo I hadn't walked yet. Parked 50m higher where macadam road branches left to avoid stream. Nothing to add to upper description. In wet path lots of animal tracks visible, excited roe deer barked at me when I disturbed it returned via road through scenic meadows above north slopes of Škrabarjev vrh. At chapel turned along forest lane then across meadow down and back to ridge. It was nice, solitary and overgrown. Mistimed path length a bit, barely beat first dusk. To Reška planina takes at least 1.45h, back hurried in three quarters hour.
Since cuckoo accompanied me on path (third this week), and at home more than one swallow seen, that can mean only one thing... We'll see

To saddle where road crosses ridge is cca. 3km and to there I walked 1:30min. Think few go this ridge anymore - wildlife. Here photo of ridge part I took from Zg. Brložnik.

Thanks! Nicely shown on pic. Area really solitary, met lots of animal tracks (hooves, churned and trampled ground), no human ones except old lost signpost. Since bit afraid of live encounters, unfortunately had to go marked path back to road, didn't fancy forest in dark just before road noticed many marked trees, hope logging not too extensive. Recommend really scenic meadows under Škrabarjev vrh. Best, Andrej

Yes, quickly admired who manages to mow here and watched chapel below. Regarding ticks positively surprised, scratched and wet head to toe from bushwhacking through fresh foliage and branches, but luckily none at home.

When it dries out and heat hits, they'll be swarming.
This ridge will be for late autumn to early spring hikes.

I threw in the fat neighbor (Štrukljev grič, 727m), because last time I was tempted to turn from the ridge to it too, but ran out of time. Today it was slippery on the steep parts, but it's a nice double-headed hill with plenty of animal tracks. Below the summit to the north there's an interesting rocky spire in the middle of the forest (lone sentinel). The main summit is spacious, but with poor views through thinned trees to neighbors (Brložen, Krvavica) and the valley. But from the Tabor hunting hut below it, the view is incredible. Snow dusted up to 1200m for views (Kamniške, Golte/Smrekovško pogorje, Uršlja gora).

you reminded me of the summer motorbike ride and the nice view from in front of the Tabor hunting hut, where I stopped. I rode past Lesjak and didn't even know I was under this hill. Did you start here from the hunting hut?

I walked roughly according to the sketch (picture). First time I twisted my ankle in a slip while going up, so in the final descent part I crossed more centrally into the area of spruce patch, where the needles grip better even in steep slope. Returned via road past the hunting hut back. But variants are of course plenty, depending on time. This one was just to fill the lungs and air the brains lp

This afternoon walk to Škrabarja and then along the scenic road past the hut on Reška planina to Brdo. In the nice evening back via known variant over meadows. Regeneration from Sunday was a bit nagging The ridge in early spring is much sunnier, for now no ticks. In dusk met many local residents (animals). Also saw diligent volunteers who equipped the climbing area under Reška with notices of temporary closure. Sun sets behind Kozica at this time.

No new puppies here anymore, but you know better than me how it is with exploring nice spots - each time you see some new passage, small ridge or valley most ideas for Savinja ends on this forum we get from you yeah, ticks will soon swarm...

Like with you, almost everything is covered, including that meadow above Miklavška church, one or two spots
still waiting for calm summer thermals, from Mrzlica
to Čemšenika I have about a dozen spots for
flying, otherwise I've also hiked most of
these hills, often first driving pitons, now
there climbers oh and ah, e.g. Kamnik!!!!!

When the clock moves it's time for me to check fitness. Didn't dare 4 peaks or K7 like last year, so used an idea I look at often. From Druškovič in a long figure eight around and back. On the first part of the ridge to Gradišče there's a new nice salt lick, and obviously lots of wild boars visited here (trampled). The old pair of cherries a bit higher will soon be embraced by the tooth of time. Worried how direct to Reška would be, but uphill we obviously choose smarter than downhill Just below Reška planina nicely placed Adijev bivak for some weather mishap. Road past Štrukljev grič now fully asphalted to the Dom. Škrabarjev ridge at this time very good choice, since not overgrown yet. Path over Strnik and Tolsti vrh is marked. I think and legs I left lots of free run, so at the end I remember mainly nicely tense muscles and caution, that after five and three quarters I got back to the exact start. Four more pics, didn't sit much in nice forenoon. Safe and enjoyable spring to all hikers. lp

I was lucky with ticks, or maybe there aren't any yet - dirty and full of needles/leaves as expected almost everywhere. Water source is directly in the middle of former old buildings, middle of the courtyard, slightly to the right you go to it. Found it by chance, even though I've been here 4-5 times already. Maybe it could even be restored. lp

Me, already 4 this year. I hope I don't reach last year's record, which was over 50 in the whole season.
I knew if there was a farm here, there must be a water source somewhere. I looked and missed it

The story always makes me laugh, when the doctor thought you didn't hear/understand how many you had in the whole year I need a booster KME dose these weeks. Yeah, I always remembered your statement about water, but today almost fell into it, because I went a bit differently
