Yes, the road to Logarski Kot is dry, further you can't go anymore! Exactly like that in the picture! Taken on Sunday.

Today the situation is the same. But the road is sufficiently wide where it's slippery to park without trouble. Enough snow to ski to the car.

Sunday Savinja Saddle and day before Puštalski half-marathon. Interesting to watch the touring ski race above Okrešelj.

ATTENTION!
Yesterday we went to Logarska dolina to check snow conditions above Logarska dolina. We went above Okrešelj. That the conditions are complex, we realized at Rinka waterfall. 3 days ago a large avalanche came down the gully left of Eagle's Nest. Another avalanche covered the path to Okrešelj above Rinka waterfall and came from slopes of Mrzla gora.

Savinja Saddle (03.01.21)

Starting point is Dom Planincev, if not too early you can even drive to Logarski kot. 10 cm fresh on the road. From Rinka Waterfall onwards lots of snow, hasn't been such winter for years, currently passable only with skis and snowshoes. At total snow depth the pole goes fully into snow and more at Okrešelj (around 1m40cm snow). That would be enough already, but since there were four more skiers we took turns to Savinja Saddle. Great weather. Towards Mrzli vrh the snow is nicely wind-packed, climbed to start of harder part. Descent by ascent route. Nice day

Greg83, I recommend skis. Used snowshoes twice and then stuck on skis. Faster and easier up, down is poetry.

Dejan: nice that you marked the individual points or places with names!

Otherwise regarding equipment: my (especially this year's) experience is such: for steeper terrains with skiing possibility definitely skis. For less steep, also forested terrain or when ascent and descent alternate several times absolutely snowshoes. In these days of course better those with large surface area, because there is really a lot of snow.

Sav. Saddle 2× (27.04.21) Regarding parking, now everything is normal. Snow starts a bit below Savinja spring. Change to crampons and above Okrešelj into mystical atmosphere. 5-8cm fresh powder. Incredible moisture, this year it hasn't flowed so long for me yet. True though, I wasn't slow. It was so fine that I had to go up once more nasmeh

This 'normal' will only last until the first of May. That's what the caretaker at Klemenča cave assured me on Friday. At the entrance to Logarska they'll charge non-stop, so even very early hikers won't get 'discounts'. Later they'll install a paid automatic barrier.

Okrešelj - Savinja Saddle still has quite a lot of snow. Don't remember when there was so much in June.
