Lastron dei Scarperi (2957)

The start of the "path" is at the Forc. di S. Candido saddle, north of Torre Toblin.

Nothing special up to the large scree cirque, over the saddle you first go a bit down, then up the scree which was frozen, so it was nice to walk. Followed a short rock section, which I could rate as poor I. Then again a path with occasional very old and poorly visible red dots (sometimes yellow too), then left to the prominent gully, where the approach to the summit slope runs.

At the top there are "imposing" cairns and a small unsightly wooden cross, but wonderful views of almost the entire Sexten Dolomites and quite a bit more.

I descended the ascent route.

You can't get enough of the Sextens just like that, so we were there on our 5th tour this year. No changes on the approach, and probably no interventions expected, as the summit (despite the extensive views) is little visited. On the return we also visited the slightly harder-to-reach neighboring peak Crodon di San Candido 2891m and extended the tour by 1h.

What is this path like? Is it comparable to Kukova Špica (last part from gully to summit)? Is it exposed? Looks reeeeeally nicecooleekvelik nasmeh

I can't provide a comparison, as I've never been to K Špica. The description on this forum is more than clear enough to imagine what the ascent looks like. In my view it doesn't rank among difficult pathless terrains as characterized there, since the path is clearly visible all the way, even faded markings are there. We need to be more careful on descent somewhere mid-path, where semi-trodden shortcuts can mislead us - one ends with a jump a couple of m. Then free climbing or 10 min return awaitszavijanje z očmi

@Klan ... Lastron dei Scarperi is a mountain gem that you can link the same day with many well-known and crowded peaks nearby. It provides mainly solitude and excellent views. The path to it is followable and no harder than ascent to Kukova Špica. Some pics (60/61/62/63/64) on the attached link, more via mail.
