Bukovniško jezero - Plečnik's church (Bogojina)

Access to the starting point:
Leave the Pomurje motorway at exit Gančani, then follow the signs for Renkovci and then Dobrovnik. When you reach the main road Murska Sobota - Lendava in Dobrovnik, continue to the right, and just a little further on, go left towards Bukovnice Lake. After a few more kilometres, you will reach the parking area in front of Bukovnik Lake.

Path description:
From the parking lot, continue along the path that runs parallel to the road and quickly leads to a marked crossroads where the path to Strehovske gorice branches off to the left and the shorter path to St. Vid.
Continue straight ahead and, just a little further on, you will emerge from the woods and climb the steps to the Bukovnik Lake embankment.
When you reach the embankment, go left and, looking towards Bukovniško jezero, you will reach the Bridge of Love. After the bridge, there is a short climb up some stairs and then the path splits.
The path around the lake continues to the right, while we continue slightly to the left and follow the marked path leading through to the Chapel of St. Vid, where the slightly shorter path mentioned above joins from the left.
Continue along the marked path, which widens into a road a little higher up and leads to Strehovski Breg, where you pass a few houses. At the first crossroads in the village, go straight ahead, and at the second crossroads, which is located by a sign, go right, where you pass behind a hunting observation post into the woods, where the path turns left. Follow the signs through the forest at a few crossroads and the path slowly starts to descend. When you reach the Janderdol stream, cross it over a small bridge and then continue along the fields to a dirt road, which you follow up to the right. There is some ascent, at a small crossroads go left, then follow the asphalt road to a larger chapel, where you go right along a marked road (also if you continue left you can reach Bogojina, just don't continue along the marked path). Continue past a few more houses, and at the last house go left into the forest. Go down through the woods a little, and when you reach cart track follow it to the left, and soon go right from it, onto a path which leads you down to the next stream. On the other side of the stream, exit the woods and continue between the fields to a mountain signpost, where you go left. Continue along the edge of the forest for a short distance, and after the hunting observation post, turn right onto the marked path, which after a few minutes leads to an asphalt road, which you follow to the right. At the last house in the alley, the road ends, and we go around the house on the left, and just a little further on we reach another road, where we go right again. The way forward leads through the village of Filovski Breg. When the houses end, the signs for Bogojina and Moravske Toplice direct us left onto a marked path, which continues mostly through the woods, but also partly along the wooded hillsides. There are several successive forks, where you follow the markings carefully, and when you leave the forest, you descend gently across a meadow to a nearby house, which you pass on the left. At the house you reach a road, which continues the easy descent, and from the crossroads go right to a wider road, where you go left (Bukovica on the right).
The road continues to descend gently, and as we approach the flat part of Prekmurje, the signs direct us right onto the local road, which we then follow through the village of Bogojina. Continue straight on through the settlement, and as you approach the church, the signs direct you to the right, onto a path that continues between the house and a small avenue. A minute's walk and you will reach the Plečnik Church in Bogojina.
