Iverje - Kamniški vrh (via Hudi Konci)

Access to the starting point:
From Kamnik we drive towards Kamniška Bistrica. Shortly at the beginning of the valley, just after a large quarry, you will see a large wooden sign marking the beginning of the Koželje Trail. The sign points to the left over the bridge. Behind it, there are a few parking spaces along the dirt track.

Path description:
The route over the Hude Konce to Kamniški vrh is something special. Not only because of the name, which sounds very serious. It is one of the few completely independent routes. It does not intersect with any other trail, which is a rare achievement in the labyrinth of paths, tracks and lanes around Kamniški vrh.
There is a parking space for a couple of cars after the bridge and a crossroads immediately afterwards. To the left is the forest road to the valley of the Potoka, to the right is the marked Koželjeva trail to Kamniška Bistrica. In between is the start of a path that leads over Hude Konce to Kamniški vrh. It can be found a few steps further on from the map board.
Hude Konci is a ridge that adheres to Kamnik Peak from the east.
To the top of the ridge the path goes through the forest, sometimes straight up the bank, sometimes in the keys, sometimes at the beginning it goes under the double pole of the power line that supplies electricity to Kamniško Bistrica, sometimes it splits in two and goes a little to the right and a little to the left, but each time the two legs quickly come back together. Even in fresh snow or dry leaves in autumn, you can't get lost. You just have to stick to the ridge right up to the top.
When you reach Hude Konce, you can see the view southwards over the Ljubljana basin. On the north side, the forest reaches right to the edge, but on the south side, there is just enough forest to see half of Slovenia.
Now the path becomes more sloping, more enjoyable, and a few times it even goes downhill. Only the last few metres below Vrhom require a little more effort.
