Kočevje - Ledena jama on Stojna (Kalan way)

Access to the starting point:
First drive to Kočevje, then look for Podgorska street (it branches off the main road to the right - the route of travel is towards Delnice). At the end of the street you will see mountain signs and a nicely arranged parking lot.

Path description:
From the parking lot, walk to a well-marked crossroads, then continue right towards Kalanova cesta (left Grajska pot). The marked path, which initially runs along the road, soon leaves the road and continues left through the forest. Continue along the path, which steepens in gradient and crosses the forest road several times. Higher up, the steepness eases and the path joins the forest road, along which the ascent continues. The road soon begins to descend and in a few steps leads to a marked crossroads where we continue straight towards the huts at Jelenovem studencu (left Mestni vrh, right Ledenik).
From the crossroads to the hut we have only a few minutes of easy walking.
From the hut, continue in the direction of Kočevska Reka and the ice cave, following cart track, which leads us to a macadam road within a few steps of ascent. This road is only crossed, as the signs for the Ice Cave direct you to a footpath which runs parallel to the road. After a few minutes' walk through the forest, we return to the dirt road, which we follow to the right, but only until the next crossroads.
Continue right towards the Ice Cave (left Požgani hrib) following cart track which, with a few short ascents and descents, leads to an information board near the cave. From the board, descend along the marked path, which leads to the cave entrance in less than a minute's walk.
I advise against descending into the cave due to the steepness of the slope without the appropriate equipment.
