Access to the starting point:
From the road Tolmin - Bovec, at Idrsko, turn onto the road towards the village of Livek. Continue on the ascending road to the village and turn left at the crossroads towards Livški Ravne. From Livški Ravne, drive a little further and then park in a slightly larger parking lot, next to which there is also a table with two benches.
Path description:
From the parking lot, continue along the asphalt road, and after a few 10 m turn right onto the macadam road, which will take you in a few minutes to an information board, where you will also join the marked trail coming from the Italian side. The road, which becomes asphalt from here on, is followed for a short distance, and then the signs for the peace trail and the Nagnoj peak direct you sharp left onto the ascending footpath. The path soon turns to the right, and then quickly leads to the summit of Nagnoj in a cross-climb.
From Nagnoj we continue on the well-worn path, which, after a short descent and a transitional ascent, leads us to the eastern foreland of Nagnoja. The path continues to descend gently for a few minutes, then the slope and the path begin to descend more visibly. At the end of the descent, the Italian road is reached and the Zanuso bivouac is reached in a few steps.
From the bivouac, go back a few metres and then follow the footpath as it starts to climb towards Trinše Peak. The way forward first climbs moderately, then lays down and leads us to Trinški vrh, with beautiful views of the Krnska Group and Veneško Slovenija.
From Trinški vrh we continue along a relatively gentle path, which continues with a few shorter ascents and descents. After a few minutes, the trail begins to descend more moderately and leads to a larger meadow, along which you can see some ruins and an open-air museum. We continue past caverns and restored old military trenches, over which we climb moderately to a small saddle where the path from Ježa joins us on the left.
Continue straight ahead and, after a short climb over a grassy slope, reach the top of Na grad.
