Access to the starting point:
From the motorway Ljubljana - Maribor take the exit Žalec, then follow the road towards Velenje, where at a major junction in the middle of the town, turn right towards Slovenj Gradec. In Slovenj Gradec, near the petrol station, turn left towards Podgorje, Sele and Ravne na Koroškem. Continue along the regional road towards Ravne na Koroškem, then at Vrhe turn left towards Sele and the Church of St. Roko. From the church, continue along the asphalted road, which leads you a little higher to a crossroads where the road leading to the Postman's Home branches off to the left. Follow the local road to the right at the first crossroads and to the left at the second crossroads (both in the direction of the Postman's Home). Follow the road all the way to the Postman's Home, where you can park in the parking lot nearby.
Access from Raven na Koroškem is also possible.
Path description:
From the postman's house, turn onto the macadam road, which is also the marked trail to Uršljo Gora. After a few metres, the Kozarnice trail branches off to the right, and we follow the marked trail that leads to Uršlja gora via Kalo. The road climbs steeply, but soon we reach meadows, and at the highest point, where we have a wide view of Slovenj Gradec and the Mislinj valley, we see a brick chapel. The marked path here goes straight towards the farm, and we turn right onto the forest track cart track, which climbs gently across the meadow. The forest road goes through the forest at first, but when you get to the clearing the paths split. We head right on the road, which is usually more winding than the road to the left, which ends blindly in the wods. We steeply round the clearing, and after a steep climb through the forest, we reach the flat area behind Ravnjak's Peak. Here cart track drops slightly, before we turn right into the forest and head straight towards the ridge we see ahead. The ridge gradually rises towards the northern edge of Plešivška kopa. We follow it all the way, and unlike the previously dark predominantly spruce forest, here it is mainly deciduous, so that between the slender beech trunks the view to the left extends across the whole of the upper Mislinja valley. Then we cross a forest road, and just above it the ridge widens and becomes slightly more upright as it merges with the northern slope of the mountain, which suddenly rises straight ahead. To the left, steep limestone boulders rise up between spruce trunks, and we find a track leading off to the right. After the first uncertainty about whether we were going the right way, the path hidden under the fallen leaves quickly becomes more distinct and obvious. There is nowhere to go wrong here, except that at the bottom the path splits and we take the right-hand one, which rises further. In the keys we climb past many uproted spruce stumps and trunks, which is why the dense forest and the arid slope make it so dark and cold. At the top of the slope, when we sense that it is about to end, the path leaves the couloir, crosses some forest grass and, among young and dense spruce trees, ends blindly on a flatter ground. We go straight on, through the forest, again somewhat steeply between rocks completely covered with green moss. Suddenly we find ourselves on a sloping forest road. We turn right and after a few metres we come to a crossroads where we see a plastic container owned by the Slovenj Gradec hunting family. One path turns sharp left and we go straight ahead and soon the previously wide road starts to disappear and then almost completely disappears. And when we can just make out the former cart track, we climb a little again, and when we see a wide view towards the Mežiška valley through the northern slope on the right, we turn to the left. Quickly climb to the top of Plešivška kopa and again see the track through the dense undergrowth. Going left after a few metres we reach the eastern summit, we turn right and after a few metres we also reach the western summit, or a pile of limestone rocks that look as if someone had placed them here, rising about a metre above the plain. The top part is completely overgrown, so we have no view to the south, and it is only through the trees to the west that we can see the tower and the church on Uršlja Gora. The view to the north is completely different. A few metres from the summit, the forest is so thinned out above the steep slope and rocks that we can enjoy views across the lower Mežiška Valley with Ravne and Kotlje and all the way to the Labotska Valley, over which Golica reigns supreme. You can descend along the same path, or go to the eastern summit, descend a little and reach the patches of shrunken forest above the eastern slope and enjoy the view towards Pohorje, Paški Kozjak and the Šaleška valley in the middle of which the chimneys of the Šoštanj CHP reign. Here you will find a forest path, follow it to the left and come to the aforementioned crossroads where there is a plastic container. When descending, it is necessary to be careful to find the ascent path, because the descent over the rocky and steep slope could be to dangerous.
