Prule - Ljubljana Castle (cart track)

Access to the starting point:
Take the Ljubljana city bus to the final stop of bus number 9 at Prule.

Path description:
From the bus station, walk first to the bridge over the Ljubljanica River, then continue straight ahead at the junction along the ascending road, which soon leads to the junction with Karlovška cesta. At the traffic lights, cross the road and on the other side continue right to the next major junction, where you will see the initially asphalted footpath leading to the Ljubljana Castle. The wide path, which soon becomes macadam, leads us higher up to a crossroads, where we continue sharp left (the straight path joins the road to the castle). The path, which continues through the dense forest, quickly leads us to the next crossroads, where we continue to the right. The path leads us higher out of the forest to a meadow by which we see a wooden cross. The way forward descends slightly and turns slightly to the right, where it takes us a few minutes to reach the chapel. Behind the chapel, the path climbs the stairs and then leads to the parking lot at Ljubljana Castle.
From the parking lot, walk up to the castle mansion and climb the many steps to the lookout tower (there is no charge to climb the lookout tower).
