Ruška koča na Arehu - Koča na Klopnem vrhu

Access to the starting point:
From the southern Maribor entrance road, at the semaphore-controlled junction, turn into the village of Hoče and follow the fully asphalted road to Areho, 18 km later.

Path description:
From the parking lot, take the macadam road on the west side and follow it through the forest for about 0. 6 km until you reach the edge of the forest. Here you have two options: either go a little further and then follow the signs to the left up along the ski slope over the highest point of Žigartov vrh, or take the well-trodden and wide path to the left over the south-east slope of Žigartov vrh, this route is 15 minutes shorter than the above option. We choose the latter and turn left along a comfortable path which initially runs flat, then passes into the forest, then rises a little until the variant path from Žigartov vrh joins us from the right (*30 min). The path descends a little, and in a small overgrown clearing a view opens up through the trees for a moment, but is again obscured by the trees. Cross the macadam road, follow the flat road around the larger clearing on the left and then start descending from Peršet Peak, where you are now. We reach the NOB monument (*40 min) , where the path straightens out again, a few 30 m from the monument is a crossroads of mountain paths, the left path leads to the Three Kings, our path turns right, as the sign "Pesek "on the tree tells us. Walk through the young forest for about 200 m and you will come to a junction of a macadam road and a forest road. Cross the dirt road and continue straight ahead on the forest road to its end at a small clearing. The path now climbs gently through the forest for a short distance, at the top slightly to the left and then down to the right, crossing an overgrown forest clearing, followed by another climb. We are on Bajgotov Peak, the path passes its highest point from the north side and in calm weather we can hear the roar of the Šumik waterfall. The trail begins to descend steeply into the Lobnica basin, crossing a macadam road, a few metres more through the forest (or just along the road around) and we arrive at a place called Bajgot, which is also a famous crossroads of mountain trails (*45 min, from Areh less than 2 hours). We are at the lowest point of our tour, at this point is the confluence of Lobnica, Kraljščice and Črnava. There is a large gravel parking lot, benches and tables for hikers in the grove on the sides. We are right on the edge of the protected area and if time permits, we can visit the Veliki Šumik waterfall, which is about a 20-minute descent, returning along the same path. From the parking lot, head west along the road, which immediately crosses Lobnica at the first right-hand bend, and after just one minute leave the road and turn left up into the forest, as the signpost for Klopni vrh warns. The path quickly levels out, crossing the forest road behind Osankarica (there is also a branch for the mountain trail to Pesek and Osankarica), another 50 m up through the forest and you will reach another forest road, which you turn left along. Follow it past a large clearing, where there is a group of houses, then turn left down the road - signpost Klopni vrh (* 20 min), (in bad weather you can continue along that road, which gently climbs). The path leads us through the forest, and after a while we see the outlines of a forest road above us, the path follows it all the time until it joins it in the last part. Below Sekretar's Peak the road ends(* 45 min), and we turn right here into the forest down a gentle slope.
