Koča na Klopnem vrhu

Description of mountain hut:
The hut is situated in a clearing north-east of Klopný vrh. The pre-war mountain hut was burnt down by the partisans in 1941 to prevent the occupier from setting up his outpost there. In the same year, the first open battle took place in the vicinity of the hut, in which the Pohorje trops defeated the Germans for the first time, as the monument reminds us.
From the hut you have a beautiful view to the north-east of Ruše and part of Maribor, in other directions the hills block a more extensive view.
In front of the hut, there is an observation deck on the remains of the basement of a villa burnt down during the war.
The hut has been closed since 2018.
