Description of peak:
Buchkogel or Wildoner Berg is a 550 m high hill in the south of Styria, Austria.
Together with the Wildoner Schlossberg (450 m) and the Bockberg (449 m), the Buchkogel forms a ridge which was known as the 'Hengist' in the Middle Ages.
Nowadays it is called Wildoner Berg or Buchkogel, after the highest peak, or Wildoner Buchkogel to distinguish it from Buchkogel at Plabutsch.
There is no view from the top because of the forest.
Due to its protected position, it shelters many species of flora and fauna.
The forest is only accessible between 8am and 5pm to allow the wild animals to feed undisturbed at the feeding stations.
