Col Rosa

Description of peak:
Col Rosa is a 2166 metre high mountain located north of Cortina d'Ampezzo. From the top with a cross, you have a very nice view of the nearby Tofane and the Boite valley. There are also many military tunnels from the First World War on the mountain, some of them under the summit. The mountain is also well visited for its interesting protected climbing route, which leads up the mountain and, due to its relatively low altitude, can be visited even in early summer, when most of the protected routes in Dolomites are still covered with snow.
