Klek

Description of peak:
Klek is a 1,181-metre-high mountain located in the north of Gorski Kotar, to the west of Ogulin. The mountain has a distinct rocky summit and a steep summit ridge. To the north of the summit are two distinct promontories of Klečice.
South of the summit, at an altitude of 1000 metres, there is a mountain hut, which is open at weekends and offers only drinks, no food. There is, however, a kitchen where you can cok your own meals. It is also possible to spend the night in the hut.
Klek is also known as the cradle of Croatian mountaineering and the symbol of the HPD (Croatian Mountaineering Association).
