Description of peak:
The Koželj hill is located in the south-eastern part of the Šaleška valley and is the closest hill to the Velenje town and a popular recreational spot in Velenje. It is visited by many locals every day, in all seasons of the year.
The hill has an elongated shape with three peaks: the Big Koželj (580 m), Koželj (590 m) and the Little Koželj (501 m).
Near the highest point of the hill, at 580 m, there are tables and benches and a locker with a registration book.
There are 3 marked trails leading through Koželj: the Family Trail, the Music Trail, which is dedicated to the music teacher and composer Fran Korun Koželjski, and the Koželj Mountain Trail, which is part of the Šaleška Mountain Trail.
Everyone who reaches the top is rewarded with a magnificent view of the magnificent Velenje Castle, the Velenje Basin and the hills surrounding it to the north and west. In clear weather, the view reaches Pohorje, Uršlja gora, Pec and Smrekovec.
