Description of peak:
Monte Pelmo is a 3,168-metre-high mountain in the Italian Dolomites. The mountain is somewhat isolated from the other mountain groups and is therefore very visible from a distance. The mountain was first climbed by John Ball on 19 September 1857. The famous ledge over which the easiest approach to the summit leads is named after him. From the top with a cross, you have a very nice view over most of Dolomites, and in good weather you can even reach Triglav.
