Sveti Duh pod Olševo - Lipševa vrata (Vrata, Felsentore) (path on border)

Access to the starting point:
There are four road links. Two from Styria, one from Carinthia and one from Austria.
From the Styrian side, both accesses are via the Upper Savinja Valley. Both accesses take you through the village of Luče to the village of Solčava. Here we have two options. The first is to turn right before the bridge for Sveti Duh onto the Solčava panoramic road and follow it from Solčava to Sveti Duh. The second option is to take the Solčava panoramic road to the Holy Spirit via Solčava past the Logarska dolina in the opposite direction. The second option is a few km longer, but we are rewarded with beautiful views.
From the Koroška side, access is from Črna na Koroškem. From Črna, take the road to Solčava via Spodnje Sleme on the Štajerska side to the Solčava panoramic road and then take the road to the right to Sveti Duh.
From the Austrian side, go through the Jezersko border crossing to the Austrian side and then back to the Slovenian/Solčav side through the Pavličevo sedlo border crossing. Just below the Majerhold guesthouse, turn left at the crossroads onto the Solčava panoramic road to Sveti Duh.
There is some gravel driving at all access points.

Path description:
The trail starts immediately left up into the forest behind the tourist farm Strevc. After about 100 metres, the path turns left onto a forest road. From this road, at the third turning, the path leads steeply uphill along the forest logging trail. A little higher, you reach the border with Austria at the Sv. Duh saddle (1432 m). There you turn sharp right and walk along the border for some time. The path climbs gently at the beginning and then descends gently. When you see the ruins of a small hut on your left, the path moves a little away from the border on the Austrian side and starts to climb steeply in small bends. On our right we can see the path coming from Rogar and going parallel up the Slovenian side of the border to Potočka zijalka and further on to Olševo. A little higher, as the path approaches the border again, there is a crossroads. The two paths, on the Austrian and Slovenian sides, come together again. We go left for Vrata/Felsentore. From here on, the trail just goes downhill. After a few minutes' walk from the SW side, we turn to the NW side of the slope below Obel kamn. Shortly before Vrata there is a crossroads again. Very steeply downhill the path goes to Železna Kapla or from below to Vrata, steeply uphill to the right is the unmarked path to Obel kamen, straight ahead it is only a few steps to Vrata. It is only because of this part of the trail to and between the Gates that I have marked the trail as difficult. Below us, on a large slope, there are considerable precipices. This part of the trail is well protected by steel cables.
You can return to the starting point by other paths past Rogar or, just above Rogar, right along the forest road. A longer option is to climb up the unmarked path to Obel kamen and down past Potočka zijalka. The route takes about 1h longer.
