Chapel on Molička planina

Description of hut:
The chapel of Saints Cyril and Methodius stands on a hillock on the Molička planina mountain pasture at an altitude of 1780 meters. Built in 1898, it was at the time the highest chapel in what is now Slovenia. In the 1950s it was destroyed by a mysterious avalanche and rebuilt in 1989. A few meters below the chapel is Kocbekovo zavetišče pod Ojstico, the first Slovenian mountain hut in the Savinja Alps and the second in Slovenia. Built in 1894 and renovated in 1999, the hut is occasionally open and offers basic refreshments such as coffee and tea. From the pasture there is also a very beautiful view of the nearby peaks above it, as well as Krofička and Robanov kot.
